Recent Representative Projects
Facility Development (2023). Represented municipality in development of ballpark as catalyst at core of $2.4 billion economic development project. Negotiated and drafted facility use and management agreement with MLB-affiliated (AA level) minor league baseball club, also the anchor tenant for the facility.
Team Transfer Transaction (2022). Represented purchaser in transfer of MLB-affiliated (High A level) minor league baseball team, as well as purchase of downtown stadium serving as team’s home venue. Also advised regarding ballpark-adjacent real estate development opportunities.
Facility Management Agreement (2022). Represented major University’s athletic department in outsourcing management and operation of University’s 14,000-seat basketball arena. Negotiated and drafted management agreement with third-party facility operator.
Mediation (2021). Brokered amendments to minor league baseball stadium use agreement between team user/manager and local government facility owner. Parties reached compromises enabling a stronger long-term partnership in the wake of the COVID pandemic.
Naming Rights Sponsorship (2023). Supported major University’s negotiation of comprehensive naming rights sponsorship agreement for University’s football stadium and other athletic department venues, drafted agreement memorializing same.
Facility Development (2021). Represented owner of independent minor league baseball club in development of stadium and adjacent real estate parcels. Negotiated and drafted primary use agreement, as well as other core operational agreements on behalf of team and stadium.
Facility Development (2020). Represented owner of MLB-affiliated (A level) minor league baseball club in development of downtown stadium. Negotiated and drafted numerous core operational agreements on behalf of team and stadium, including ballpark use agreement, naming rights sponsorship agreement, and third-party food and beverage concessions agreement.
